Privacy Policy

PixelGuard is built to work privately on your iPhone or iPad. In normal app use, AIXion does not receive your photos, metadata, or app usage data.

Data Controller

1. Core Privacy Promise

PixelGuard processes photo metadata locally on-device. We do not operate a cloud photo pipeline, and we do not upload your photo files, EXIF data, or cleaned images to AIXion servers.

2. Data AIXion Receives

• Normal app use: AIXion collects no data from the app. There is no account creation, analytics, advertising ID collection, or tracking SDK.
• Purchases: Apple handles billing. PixelGuard reads StoreKit purchases, trial eligibility, and entitlement status to show offers and unlock Pro. AIXion does not receive your payment card or bank account information through the app.
• Support email (optional): if you contact support, we receive your email address, message, and anything you attach, such as screenshots or purchase receipt images.
• Website access: when you visit PixelGuard's website, legal pages, or support pages, hosting and CDN providers may process standard request data such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, and security logs to deliver and protect the site. This is separate from normal app use.

3. What Stays on Your Device

• Photos, photo location and other metadata, camera captures, and temporary files used to analyze, clean, save, or share media. Photos you save remain in your Photos library.
• Preferences, the daily free-use count, Pro status, cached thumbnails and risk results, and records of originals you chose to keep or clean.
• App Group data shared locally among the app, the share-sheet extension, and the Home Screen widget: usage count, preferences, entitlement state, suggested-photo counts, and records used to match a cleaned share-sheet copy to its original. Resolved records are removed; unresolved records older than 30 days are removed when the app next processes them.
• Local notification settings and reminders for new photos with location information, eligible free trials nearing their end, and supported batch-clean progress. Shortcuts and Siri actions use the same on-device photo processing.

AIXion does not receive these on-device items.

4. Permissions

PixelGuard asks for access only when a feature needs it. You can change permissions in iOS or iPadOS Settings.

• Photos: access to all or selected photos lets the app inspect photo metadata, suggest photos with location information, clean selected library items, and save copies and camera captures. The share-sheet extension requests add-only access to save cleaned copies. Limited access restricts which existing photos the app can inspect. iCloud media may need to be downloaded by the system before cleaning.
• Camera: used only when you open Clean Camera. It does not add location to a capture; with Pro or a free clean remaining, it also removes supported camera and device metadata. When the free limit is reached, the captured photo is saved without cleaning.
• Notifications: used for optional local alerts about newly detected photos with location information, an eligible trial ending soon, and supported batch-clean progress. Background detection depends on when iOS permits it.
• Location: the app reads location already embedded in accessible photos to show and identify it. The camera does not attach your current location. The app does not request your device's current location for this processing.

These permissions do not send photos, captured media, or photo location to AIXion. Sharing a photo through another app sends it only to the destination you choose, under that destination's practices.

5. No Tracking, No Ads, No Data Sale

PixelGuard does not run behavioral analytics, advertising SDKs, fingerprinting, or cross-app tracking. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising.

6. Third Parties

• Apple: App Store, StoreKit purchases, subscription management, and refund handling.
• Email provider: only when you voluntarily contact support by email.
• Website hosting and CDN providers: only for delivering and protecting PixelGuard's public website and legal/support pages.

7. Retention

• Photos and metadata: not retained by AIXion because they are not sent to us.
• Support emails: retained only as needed to handle support and legal obligations.
• Local app data: remains on your device until replaced, removed in the app where available, or deleted with the app. Your Photos library is managed separately by iOS. Unresolved share-sheet matching records older than 30 days are removed when the app next processes them.
• Purchase and trial status: read from Apple by the app to provide Pro access and reminders. AIXion only receives related information if you voluntarily send it to support.
• Website request data: retained by hosting and CDN providers only as needed for delivery, security, abuse prevention, and reliability.

8. Privacy Rights

Because PixelGuard is designed for zero data collection in normal use, we usually do not hold personal data about you unless you emailed support. If you want access or deletion of support communications, email support@pixel-guard.com with subject line "Privacy Request".

This applies across regions, including California and EEA/UK users: we do not sell personal information and we do not profile users for ads.

9. Children's Privacy

PixelGuard is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

10. Security

Local processing is the main security design choice in PixelGuard. Keeping photos on-device reduces external data exposure.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy when product or legal requirements change. The latest version and update date are posted on this page.
