Frequently Asked Questions

Does PixelGuard upload my photos or metadata?

No. PixelGuard processes photos and videos locally on your iPhone or iPad. Media and metadata are not sent to AIXion servers.

What metadata does PixelGuard remove?

"Fully Clean Photo" removes privacy-sensitive metadata such as GPS location, camera/device fields, software tags, and EXIF/IPTC date fields where present. Exact fields depend on the source media format.

Which media are supported?

PixelGuard supports still photos, Live Photos, and videos in your iOS or iPadOS Photos library. Still photos remain still photos, Live Photos are saved back as Live Photos with motion and sound, and videos are saved back as videos. For Live Photos and videos, PixelGuard removes supported privacy metadata from the video resource while preserving playback.

What happens to my original photo or video?

By default, PixelGuard keeps your original and saves a cleaned copy. You can turn off "Keep Original" in Settings if you want to replace the original with the cleaned version.

Where is the cleaned media saved?

Cleaned photos and videos are saved to your Photos library.

Does PixelGuard work offline?

Yes for cleaning itself. Network may still be needed if iOS or iPadOS must download an iCloud photo or video first, or when using App Store purchase/restore features.

What is included in the free plan?

The free tier can remove photo information from up to 3 photos per day.

What do I get with PixelGuard Pro?

Pro removes privacy-risk information from multiple photos with no app-imposed photo limit through Apple-managed subscriptions.

Is there a batch limit?

Free users can clean up to 3 photos per day. Pro has no app-imposed photo limit and can clean multiple photos at once.

How does auto-renewable billing work?

PixelGuard Pro Monthly (USD $4.99/month) and PixelGuard Pro Yearly (USD $29.99/year) are auto-renewable subscriptions. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation. Subscription renews automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the period ends, and renewal is charged within 24 hours before the current period ends.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Manage or cancel in iOS or iPadOS Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.

How do I restore purchases?

Open PixelGuard and use the in-app "Restore Purchases" action. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID used for purchase.

Auto-Renew Summary

  • Monthly: USD $4.99/month
  • Yearly: USD $29.99/year
  • Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid the next charge.
  • Manage subscriptions in iOS or iPadOS Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.
  • Payment and refunds are handled by Apple.

Subscription Management
